Lebron Changes the NBA

Lebron James has finally made his "Decision" and has changed the landscape of the NBA and basketball forever.

Well, at least for the next 5 years.

Lebron James has decided to play basketball with Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh by signing with the Miami Heat.

Doing so on public television, Lebron (otherwise known on twitter as @kingjames) announced his intention during a one hour special on ESPN to join forces with Wade and Bosh to make the most lethal trio in recent professional sports history.

The question is, will this be the right move for Lebron James and his so called brand?  Will he end up just being Dwayne Wade's super-sidekick, ala Scottie Pippen?  Can these 3 players co-exist for an 82 game season and an extended playoff run to an NBA Championship?

Personally, I feel that Lebron is making a huge mistake that will cost him dearly in the end.

First, the Miami Heat have to find enough guys willing to make the league minimum to fill out a roster that will be able to compete and play along side James, Wade, and Bosh.

Secondly, this is Wade's team, not Lebron's.  And if Lebron doesn't recognize that, the chemistry will never work.

Finally, since it is Wade's team, Lebron will never be more than what Scottie Pippen was to Michael Jordan.  Certainly not a bad thing, but definitely not among the best players of all time, which is ultimately a documented goal of King James

Nevertheless, Lebron says winning is important and that will make him happy.
"I think the major factor and the major reason in my decision was the best opportunity for me to win and to win now and to win into the future also.
And winning is a huge thing for me. Jim, you know ever since I was a rookie or even in high school, we always talked, that was the number one thing for me: Help my teammates get better and just wanting to win. And I've done some great things in my seven years, and I want to continue to do that."
Not everyone is happy though.  Take a look at Rachel Nichols report on what is going on in Cleveland after the "Decision."

The fans of Cleveland are not happy, and neither is Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert.  Check out his open letter to the fans of Cleveland.

Looks like some revenge will be on the way.

Let us know of your thoughts on Lebron going to Miami.  You think the Heat are built for a dynasty?  Do you want to play with Lebron to help Pat Riley fill out the roster?  Leave a comment below.
