Jose Reyes has been through a lot over the past two seasons. After missing most of 2009 with a leg injury, Reyes was held out of this year's spring training after being diagnosed with a thyroid issue. After struggling to start the season after coming back during the second week of the season, its safe to say that Mr. Reyes was due.
Over a 6 game stretch that included a 3 game sweep of division rival Philadelphia, Reyes was 13 for 26, good for a .500 average, with 3 doubles, 1 home run, and 7 RBI's. Most importantly for the Mets, Reyes has become a force on the bases once again with 7 runs scored and 3 stolen bases over the past 6 games.
After finally getting on track, look for Reyes to keep running. Congrats Jose on being named this week's ManSpeak MLB Player of the Week!
