The Man Speak, NFL Picks, Week 14

The Man Speak went .500 last week as it was a topsy turvy week in the NFL.  The Bucs let me down one week after we successfully picked them for an upset.  We got Oakland over the Steelers right though to make up for it.

Let's see what kind of upsets and rumblings we can make this week.  All spreads are presented by LV Hilton as of 1pm Central Time on Saturday, December 12th.

Denver (+7) at Indianapolis
Can the Colts stay undefeated?  I think so, but not without a fight.  We've picked the Indy game wrong every week, so we might as well this week too.  Brandon Marshall is a FREAK and he helps to keep it close as I am taking the points and the Broncos.  Indianaplis 31 Denver 27

Cincinnati (+6.5) at Minnesota
What a match-up.  Two teams that can grind it out on the ground and play really tough defense.  Oh yeah, they both have QB's that can sling it around the field when they need to.  I think the Bengals are for real, and Cedric Benson will lead them to victory.  I'll take the points and the Bengals on the road.  Cincinnati 24 Minnesota 23

Green Bay at Chicago (+4)
"Da Bears" are getting 4 points at home and it will be nasty cold at Soldier Field (Is it still called Soldier Field?). We think Aaron Rodgers is super, and we think Jay Cutler is not.  Unless the Bears can get Forte going on the ground, Green Bay easily covers in this one.  Green Bay 27 Chicago 16

New Orleans at Atlanta (+10)
Last week we picked the 'Skins and the points and that turned out well as the Saints almost got upset.  Not this week.  Not a chance as the Saints got their wake-up call and Atlanta is decimated with injuries.  New Orleans 38 Atlanta 13

Miami (+2.5) at Jacksonville
We picked against the Jags last week because we don't think they are any good.  We got burned, but we still think they stink.  Miami is fighting for their playoff lives and they are tough as nails.  They get it done on the road in a grinder.  Miami 17 Jacksonville 12

New York Jets at Tampa Bay (+3)
The Jets are 6-6 and looking for a playoff spot, but Mark Sanchez is out.  Tampa is at home, has only one win, and is terrible.  The blitzing of Rex Ryan and the Jets will be a problem for the young Buc QB, and we think the Jets cover and win.  New York Jets 24 Tampa Bay 10

San Diego (+3.5) at Dallas
Are you serious?  The Chargers are getting 3.5 points?  We don't need to know anything else, even if it is in that goofy building with the enromous TV hanging from the ceiling.  San Diego 34 Dallas 28

St. Louis (+11.5) at Tennessee
If Vince Young plays, Tennessee will cover.  If Vince Young doesn't play, Tennessee will still cover.  How many more beatings can Stephen Jackson take?  Tennessee 27 St. Louis 9

Philadelphia at New York Giants (+1)
This game is basically a pick'em.  If Desean Jackson plays, it changes the landscape of the Eagles offense.  Michael Vick is getting confidence every game and might see some more time, especially if the Eagles want to run the ball.  We still don't think that Eli Manning is healthy.  We'll take the Eagles on the road.  Philadelphia 31 New York Giants 27

Arizona at San Francisco (+3.5)
Arizona looked good against the Vikings last week.  We think they looked two good.  Much like the Saints coming off the big win against the Pats, the Cardinals come out flat after a big win the previosu week.  Plus, the 49ers already beat the Cardinals at their place in Week 1.  Coach Singletary will have his team ready to play on Monday night.  We're going with the upset and taking the points just in case.  San Francisco 27 Arizona 26

Enjoy!
