The Man Speak, NFL Picks, Week 15

Coming off of last week, where we picked 7 out of 10 games correctly, we are feeling pretty confident at this point.  We successfully called the 49ers over the Cardinals, a big upset, and the Dolphins over the Jaguars, a minor upseet.  We also missed on Indy again, as Peyton Manning never ceases to amaze.

This week has a few intriguing match-ups, especially the Saturday night game in the Superdome.  Let's pick some games.  All lines are brought to you by LV Hilton with lines as of 12:30 CT on Saturday, December 19, 2009.

Dallas (+7.5) at New Orleans
Roy Williams proclaimed the Saints the super bowl champs this week, but also said how great it would be beat the champs.  Dallas stinks in December, but the Saints have been walking a fine line the last few weeks.  I think the pressure may be getting to the Saints.  I'll take the Cowboys and the points.  New Orleans 31 Dallas 30

Green Bay (+2.5) at Pittsburgh
The Steelers have been bad the past few weeks, but I don't think that Mike Tomlin will let that happen again.  Going against Aaron Rodgers makes me nervous, but I'll take the Steelers at home.  Pittsburgh 27 Green Bay 20

Miami (+5.5) at Tennessee
I know Vince Young wins games, but I don't think he is good.  If he makes any mistakes against the Dolphins, the Miami ground game will chew up the clock and control the game.  The wild card is always going to be Chris Johnson, but I think the Dolphin defense can control him barely enough.  I'm taking the points and the upset because Miami is just too tough.  Miami 19 Tennessee 16

New York Giants at Washington (+3)
This stinks like an upset.  The 'Skins will make it virtually impossible for the G-Men to make the playoffs.  I'm taking the points and I'm taking the 'Skins.  Washington 27 New York Giants 24

Houston at St. Louis (+13.5)
Houston does what they need to do to get back in the playoff hunt.  They also manage not to get the swine flu.  On the clock are the St. Louis Rams.  What number will Suh wear?  Houston 42 St. Louis 6

Chicago (+11) at Baltimore
Match-up of former great defenses.  Remember that I said former.  Baltimore is fighting for a playoff spot and I don't think the Bears have fought all year.  The Bears are getting a lot of points, but they are bad.  I'll take the Ravens to cover.  Baltimore 34 Chicago 17

Cincinatti (+7) at San Diego
Possible playoff matchup here.  San Diego will make sure it doesn't happen until the second round.  The Bengals have to emotional after this week, but I don't think the emotion will make up for not being prepared for an excellent Charger team.  If these teams see each other in the playoffs though, things could be very different.  San Diego 33 Cincinatti 21

Tampa Bay (+6.5) at Seattle
Neither of these teams are any good.  Freeman is really good at completing passes to the other team.  I'll take the Seahawks to cover because of it.  Seattle 27 Tampa 13

Cleveland (+2.5) at Kansas City
Wow there are some bad games this week.  Umm...I don't really have a reason to take the Browns, but I'm going to.  Brady Quinn gets it done.  The Chiefs are fighting the Rams for worst team in Missouri.  Cleveland 24 Kansas City 17

San Franscisco (+7.5) at Philadelphia
Westbrook is out.  Maclin is out.  The Eagles have been playing well despite all of their injuries.  But they are going against a hungry 49er team who wants to get better.  I think the Eagles will pull out the victory, but it will be close as the 49ers are getting too many points.  Philadelphia 31 San Francisco 27

Enjoy, and Merry Christmas!

  1. How could you bet against the Bengals. Come on, seriously. They will play for Chris Henry and Cedric Benson is going to rush for 150 and two touchdowns as Carson does enough in the pass game to get a victory. The score will be 24-21 Bengals. Bengals are going to be superbowl champions this year. Carson will not tear every ligament in his knee this year which allows the Bengals to take down the Colts in the AFC Championship. Then they will go against Favre and Peterson. Favre is already breaking down, so unless Peterson runs for 400 yards and 4 touchdowns, Bengals win!!!

  2. Your Bengals lost Kevin, but the Chargers didn't cover. 4-5 is not good. I need Washington to pull one out to be even for the week.
