NFL Picks - Week 10

Nov 7, 2010; Oakland, CA, USA; Oakland Raiders cornerback Jeremy Ware (23) and defensive end Lamarr Houston (99) leap in celebration during the game against the Kansas City Chiefs at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. The Raiders defeated the Chiefs 23-20 in overtime. Photo via Newscom The NFL is easily the man equivalent to a "soap opera".

Look at all of these disastrous story lines.

1. Dallas Cowboys fire Wade Phillips mid season
2. Brett Favre shows penis to Jets employee
3. Randy Moss is on his third team this season
4. The Raiders are winning games!

Its so hard to predict what will happen from week to week, which is why we don't play with real money here.

Obviously there will be another plot that materializes this week.  Lets see if we can predict what will happen.

(6-2) New England Patriots (+4.5) vs (6-2) Pittsburgh Steelers

As I predicted last week, the Patriots were upset on the road against the Cleveland Browns

"We were out of sync all day," quarterback Tom Brady said. "As an offense, we didn't do much to advance the ball, and that includes the quarterback. If we play like we played today we are not going to beat anybody."

Bill Belicheck coached teams don't play terrible two weeks in a row.

Playing the Steelers, who are likely the top team in the AFC won't be easy, but look for the Pats to return back to form and upset the Steelers on the road.

If they don't win, I have 4.5 points to fall back on.  New England 27 Pittsburgh 23

(6-2) New York Jets vs (3-5) Cleveland Browns (+3)

Speaking of the Browns, they wouldn't be able to pull off a major upset two weeks in a row, would they?

The story here was all about how Jets coach Rex Ryan dressed up as his brother Rob, who is an assistant with the Browns during a press conference this week.

Generally when a team has been bad for an extended period comes away with a big win, they become a bit complacent.

Plus a rookie quarterback like Colt McCoy going against Ryan's defense is generally a recipe for disaster.

I'm taking the Jets to cover in this game, even though I really thing the Browns are much improved.  New York 24 Cleveland 12

(4-4) St. Louis Rams (+6) vs (2-6) San Francisco 49ers

This feels like a gift.  Jet lag lingers in the NFL and the 49ers last played in London, England.

Plus, the Rams are legit behind rookie quarterback Sam Bradford, who says he is just not starting to get comfortable.

"I felt very comfortable out there today, probably the most comfortable I've felt," the rookie said after completing 25 of 32 for 191 yards and two scores versus the Panthers two wees ago. "I think the game is really slowing down for me."

I'm taking the points and looking for the Rams to grab their first road victory of the season.  St. Louis 23 San Francisco 17

And the soap opera continues.
