Ubaldo Jimenez, MLB Pitcher of the Week

Explosive.  Disgusting.  Filthy.

These are just 3 words to describe how awesome Ubaldo Jimenez has been for the Colorado Rockies this season.  Last week was not any different as Jimenez pitched the Rockies to a couple of victories on his way to being name Manspeak MLB Pitcher of the Week.

Pitching 16.0 innings, including a complete game shutout of division rival San Francisco, Jimenez managed to give up only 2 runs on 10 hits and 5 walks.  Meanwhile, he dominated as usual with 17 strikeouts to go along with his minuscule 1.12 ERA for the week.

Funny thing for Jimenez is, that 1.12 ERA last week actually raised his ERA on the season to 0.93

Jimenez can be nearly impossible to hit, with a 99 MPH fastball that darts and dives every which way.  Jimenez has quickly become the toughest pitcher to face in recent memory.

The sick thing is, not that he is not sick enough, but Jimenez is only getting better.

While Colorado is on the outside looking in at this point in the NL West, if the Rockies manage to make the playoffs, Ubaldo will be an absolute nightmare in the Colorado cold.  My hands ache as I type and think about it.

Congrats Ubaldo as you are this week's Manspeak MLB Pitcher of the Week!
