Kyle Singler Named Preseason All-American

Kyle Singler hopes to lead the Duke Blue Devils to back-to-back
NCAA National Championships
Kyle Singler was instrumental in Duke's run to a National Championship last year.

Many were surprised that Singler decided to come back to school.  What else did he have to prove?

Before he has even played a game in his senior season, Singler received an honor he is familiar with when he was named one of five on the men's preseason All-American basketball team.

Coming off a National Championship, Singler is only focused on repeating and learning with his new supporting cast.

"Someone asked me if we don't win a national championship, will it ruin the year? You just never know what to expect in the year and toward the end of the year. We're not worried about that right now," Singler said of the 2010-11 Blue Devils.  "There's so much we can accomplish, especially at the beginning of the year and the middle of the year. There's so much to learn and experience."

It many people eyes, this season will be a disappointment if Singler and the Duke Blue Devils do not repeat as National Championships.

In the AP's Preseason Poll, the Blue Devils were an easy number one choice and with Coach Mike Krzyzewski on the bench teaching his spread motion offense and in your face defense, the Blue Devil will be tough again in 2010.

Other Preseason All-Americans include:

Jacob Pullen, Kansas State, 6-0, senior, 53 (19.3 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 82.2 ft pct, 1.8 steals)
Jimmer Fredette, BYU, 6-2, senior, 49 (22.1 ppg, 4.7 apg, 45.8 3-pt fg pct, 89.2 ft pct)
JaJuan Johnson, Purdue, 6-10, senior, 46 (15.5 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 50.7 fg pct, 2.1 blocks)
Harrison Barnes, North Carolina, 6-8, freshman, 17 (19.7 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 60 fg pct at Ames (Iowa) HS)
