LeBron James Ready to Play for Team U.S.A. in 2012

Lebron James was an integral member of the 2008 Olympic Men's
Basketball team in Beijing, China
After not competing in the 2010 World Championships for gold medal winning Team U.S.A. in Turkey, LeBron James let it be known that despite missing this summer's competition, he would really like to be part of the 2012 Olympic version of Team U.S.A. in London, England.

"I would love to be a part of that team," James said. "If [coach Mike Krzyzewski] needs me to be a part of that team, I'm available. Hopefully I'm healthy enough to be a part of that team. Coach K has my number."

This is great news for Team U.S.A.

I'm sure Coach K can figure out a way to incorporate the most athletic player in the world.  Maybe even use him as a defensive specialist.

But here is a question to ponder.

Is LeBron's willingness to play stemmed from motivation to represent his country proudly?

Or....

Is it another attempt to repair an image that was broken when he fled Cleveland and announced it on national television.

Either way, I'm glad to see LeBron is ready to wear the Red, White, and Blue.

  1. What do you think, does LeBron want to play for Team U.S.A. just to repair his image?
